William is a partner of the firm. Before founding Jakubowitz & Chuang LLP, William worked at a large New York law firm as an associate in the patent litigation department. He earned his law degree from New York University Law School. Before that he graduated magna cum laude from New York University with a bachelors in biochemistry and economics.
In his practice at Jakubowitz & Chuang LLP, William has focused on matters related to intellectual property, civil litigation, and bankruptcy counseling. He has represented debtors in bankruptcy and advised clients on how to prepare for and structure their bankruptcy filings to maximize the amounts of exemptions. He also has prosecuted trademarks and counseled clients on protecting their trademark and copyrights.
William is admitted to the New York State Bar, and the bars of the federal courts in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He is a member of the New York County Lawyers Association, and the New York State Bar Association.
William is conversant in Mandarin Chinese. He enjoys hiking in his spare time. He is a board member of and legal advisor to the Holly Civic Association, and a member of the Kissena Park Conservancy.
