Tovia is a partner of Jakubowitz & Chuang LLP. Before founding Jakubowitz & Chuang LLP, Tovia worked at a large general practice firm as an associate in the Intellectual Property group. He has extensive experience in intellectual property litigation and counseling clients in a variety of technical fields, including computer systems, computer architecture, microprocessors, telecommunications, and business methods. His experience spans all stages of a lawsuit from pre-suit investigation to trial work. Tovia also has experience in landlord-tenant and trademark litigation. In addition to litigation work, Tovia has advised clients on restructuring and managing their debt, and when necessary, prepared and filed bankruptcy petitions for clients.
Tovia graduated from Fordham University, where he was a member of the Intellectual Property Law Journal. Before law school, he graduated from Brooklyn College with a bachelors of science in computer and information science, cum laude.
Tovia is admitted in State of New York as well as the bar of the federal courts in the Southern District of New York and Eastern District of New York. He has also practiced before the Bankruptcy Court in New York.
